Why become a VOICE member?

An opportunity to make a real difference to the experience of patients and their loved ones

Time commitment

Members are required to sign up for a term of 1 year, at the end of which time there is the opportunity to apply for a second term
VOICE meetings will be held quarterly, supplemented by regular role-specific meetings. Members are expected to commit at least 4 hours per month to VOICE-related tasks. Specific roles such as the New Healthcare Facility require additional time commitment.

A willingness to escalate concerns and work collectively to find a solution/Ability to focus on solving a problem
To be open to working with all levels of management at the Trust
The ability to work effectively in a group environment
To be able to demonstrate an understanding of the diverse needs of the local community
An awareness of and commitment to equality and diversity
A willingness to provide a commitment to the Group and act as a representative of the Trust
To support the Trust’s values, objectives and vision
The ability to approach issues as a ‘critical friend’
The ability to understand and evaluate a range of information and evidence
An understanding of the need for confidentiality
To be able to demonstrate good time management skills
Effective networking skills
The ability to remain impartial when collecting feedback or market research
