Supporting strategies

Our digital strategy

In 2022, we refreshed our Digital strategy building on the work previously undertaken that led to recognition of the Trust as a Global Digital Exemplar.

The strategy aligns with the Trust strategy of First for patients, first for staff and first for the future with digital ambitions connected to these objectives. It also emphasises the importance of the wide range of people impacted by digital with its ambition of “putting people at the heart of technology”.

It acknowledges the drive to further develop digital solutions but not exclusively. We recognise that there will many ways to access services that the Trust offers hence the approach of “digital first but not digital only”.

The Trust digital strategy is closely aligned to and supported by the Future System Digital Strategy that outlines more of the wide range of technologies that will be required to support the new healthcare facility.

Our nursing, midwifery and AHP strategy

In 2022 we developed a new nursing, midwifery and allied health professional strategy.

Created in partnership with nursing, midwifery and allied health professional members of the organisation’s non-medical clinical council with the enthusiasm and engagement our teams are renowned for, it builds on the Trust’s First for patients, staff and the future strategy as a framework for our ambitions over the next five years.

This document sets out our intentions for improving care, developing our workforce and addressing some of the key challenges our professions face.

Our prevention, health inequalities, and personalised care strategy.

In 2023, we created a strategy which aims to to help people stay healthy and get fair and personalised care.

This plan is called the Prevention, Health Inequalities, and Personalised Care Strategy. It shows how we want to stop illnesses before they happen, support people to live healthier lives, and make sure everyone gets the care they need.

We worked with our teams and local communities to create this plan, which focuses on helping people live healthier lives, reducing unfair differences in care, and supporting everyone to get the right care for their needs.

Our maternity and neonatal strategy

In 2022 we developed a new maternity and neonatal strategy.

Created in partnership with our Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership and colleagues, engagement to create the key priorities was undertaken throughout 2021.

Building on the Trust’s First for patients, staff and the future strategy as a framework for our ambitions over the next five years, this strategy provides a clear purpose and direction for the provision and transformation of our maternity service up to 2027. It describes how we will work in partnership with our healthcare organisations, parents-to-be, new parents and other key stakeholders to provide a world class maternity service giving babies the best start in life.

Please read our maternity and neonatal strategy and if you have any comments or suggestions about our care, please contact our head of midwifery Karen Newbury at Karen.Newbury@wsh.nhs.uk

Our Trust values
