Cancel an appointment

If you cannot attend your appointment at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, please let us know as soon as possible.

This allows us to offer the appointment to another patient and helps us make the best use of our clinic time. We ask for at least five working days’ notice where possible.

To cancel or change your appointment, please use the contact details on your appointment letter in the first instance. If you cannot find these details, please call the hospital switchboard on 01284 713000 and ask for the department you need.

If you do not attend

Many outpatient clinics have a “failure to attend” policy. If you miss your appointment without telling us, you may not be offered another appointment unless your GP refers you again. This helps ensure that appointment slots are not wasted.

If you realise you cannot attend, please contact the number on your appointment letter or card as soon as possible.
