More visiting for maternity

New and expectant mothers can again have visitors if they need to stay in hospital as part of their treatment.

The West Suffolk Hospital's F11 ward has today introduced new arrangements for booked visiting appointments for mums staying with them.

A partner or other significant person will be able to visit for up to an hour per day, so long as they wear a face covering and have not had or been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 symptoms.

The re-introduction of visiting follows other changes to maternity arrangements, including allowing partners to accompany mums-to-be for most scans and during labour.

There are still stricter restrictions on the maternity day assessment unit.

You can find full details on our Visiting our maternity services page.

The Trust is keeping arrangements for visiting under regular review, reflecting national guidance and the need to keep our patients, visitors, and staff as safe as possible.
