To help prevent the spread of winter viruses such as Covid-19, influenza and norovirus (winter vomiting bug), and to protect our patients and staff, please do not visit patients in our hospitals if you have: flu-like symptoms (cough, fever, cold); Covid-19 or influenza, or any other infections; diarrhoea and/or vomiting within the last two days.

The Integrated Community Paediatric Service (ICPS) brings together many services that support children and families. These include:

  • Suffolk Communication Aids Resource Centre (SCARC)

We may also work with other teams and services depending on your child’s needs.

Appointment information

An adult with parental responsibility is expected to attend the first appointment with their child.

Informed consent will be sought for assessment and treatment at all stages of the child/young person’s involvement with the service.

Students may be working in the department, fully supervised by senior staff. Your consent will always be sought in advance if a student will be involved in your child’s care.

Information will be recorded in electronic and paper records, and used/stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Things to bring to the appointment:

  • Your appointment card/letter
  • Your child’s personal child health record (red book) if they are pre-school age
  • Any forms sent to you to complete and bring to the appointment
  • Any useful medical or educational information, including a list of any medicine your child takes
  • Toys and refreshments to support your child’s comfort
