Bereaved parents welcomed to a special service
Our Trust is holding a baby loss service, welcoming anyone whose baby or child has died, to share and remember their bereavement together in a safe space.
The baby loss service takes place on Sunday, 3 November at 3.00pm, in the West Suffolk Hospital chapel, welcome to all regardless of faith or non-faith.
Sands (the stillbirth and neonatal death charity) befrienders will also be present to offer bereavement support.
Karen Ranson, neonatal unit ward manager and clinical lead, said: “Although our hospital is often a place that preserves, supports and welcomes new life, sadly it is also a place where we can experience loss and bereavement too.
“We’re welcoming anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby or child, at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy, to come to our special service of sharing and remembering.
“Every year, thousands of people experience the loss of a baby in the UK, and we want to make sure that no one in our local community feels alone or unsupported through their bereavement journey.”
