The BMA trade union representing resident doctors, planned strike action from 7am on Monday, 15 June to 7am on Friday, 19 June 2026.
This has been cancelled following a refreshed offer from the Government, which BMA resident doctors will vote on.
Therefore, the Trust is now working to return to a 'business as usual' capacity and will work to increase activity where possible in areas which had 'stood down' to cover this period of planned strike action.
What if I had an appointment or procedure which was postponed due to the strikes?
The Trust works hard in the lead up to any period of strike action to ensure as many appointments and procedures go ahead as possible. However, there are cases where these need to be postponed.
Any patient who had their appointment or procedure postponed will have been notified. If you have not been notified please attend your appointment or procedure as planned.
Our teams are working hard to reschedule any appointment or procedure in their original slot where possible, but if this is not possible, you will be offered the soonest available date. If you have not heard from us about rescheduling yet, we will be in touch.
My appointment or procedure was not postponed, will this now be at risk of postponement?
If you have not heard from us that your appointment or procedure had been postponed due to the planned period of strike action, then please attend planned.
If there is any other reason for postponement unrelated to the planned period of strike action we will contact you ahead of time.
