Orthopaedics is a branch of medicine that focuses on the care of the musculoskeletal system. This system is made up of muscles and bones as well as joint ligaments and tendons.
Our trauma services are for patients suffering a traumatic orthopaedic injury. This service is consultant delivered and takes the form of responding to the emergency department, outpatient clinics, inpatient and day case surgery.
Our elective orthopaedic service involves outpatient consultations for a range of sub specialties. Elective surgery is offered on both an inpatient or day case basis, as appropriate.

Our elective orthopaedic ward and trauma ward is located on the first floor of the West Suffolk Hospital. Our fracture clinic is located on the ground floor of the West Suffolk Hospital.
