Car parking payment system at the West Suffolk Hospital has changed

Having received feedback from our patients and visitors, we have worked with our new car parking provider, UK CPM, to put in place a more convenient process for Blue Badge holders on the West Suffolk Hospital site.

Should Blue Badge holders wish, they can register their Blue Badge details with UK CPM, which will enable seamless entry and exit to the West Suffolk Hospital site. This means you will not need to remove your Blue Badge and scan this at a car parking payment machine.

To register your Blue Badge with UK CPM, you will need to:

1. Email westsuffolknhsft@uk-cpm.com (opens in new tab)
2. Include the name of the Blue Badge holder, the vehicle registration, the expiry date, and a picture of the blue badge
3. UK CPM will register your details and you can enter and exit the site seamlessly

Up to three vehicles can be registered with one Blue Badge.

If your registration has not been processed before Monday, 26 January, you will still need to scan the barcode on the back of your Blue Badge at one of the car parking payment machines.

When your Blue Badge expires, you will need to contact UK CPM to provide them with your new badge’s details.

Our car parking payment system does not affect the number of spaces available on the West Suffolk Hospital site.

• Enter the site via the usual entrance where your registration number plate will be scanned
• You can then leave your vehicle and make your way to your appointment, procedure, or a loved one in our care
• If you pay at one of the car parking machines, upon exiting the site, your registration number plate will be scanned confirming your exit.
• If preferred, you can use the Sippi app to pay for your parking within 48 hours of exiting the site to pay for your parking.

If you do not pay for your car parking within 48 hours, you will be served with a penalty charge notice (PCN).

You will need to input your number plate details into the payment machine, which will be logged with the automatic number plate recognition system, registering your payment.

Yes, Family Carers will continue to receive free parking.

Family Carers parking on the West Suffolk Hospital site will continue to collect a Carers Pack from the volunteers desk by the main hospital reception.

This will contain a voucher with a QR code, that you will need to scan at a parking payment machine before leaving the site.

The new parking system means you will be able to enter and exit the site without being charged for up to 24-hours from your time of entry.

There is one payment machine on the West Suffolk Hospital site that takes cash. This is the payment machine by the Macmillan Unit.

The car parking system means there are additional machines placed in the patient and visitor car park, and by the exit of the West Suffolk Hospital site.

No, if you are on site for less than 30 minutes you will not need to pay for car parking.

Those visiting loved ones at St Nicholas Hospice will receive free car parking.

Members of staff at the hospice will record your vehicle registration details, gives you free car parking so no action is required at a payment machine or the on the Sippi app.

If you receive a concession, exemption, or reduction - such as those for the Macmillan Unit or for those who are frequent outpatient visitors - these are available.

All concessions, exemptions, and reductions offered with the previous system remain in place.
