Services we provide

Our speech and language therapy service helps children and young people from birth to 19 years who have difficulties with speech, language, communication or feeding.

Our team includes speech and language therapists and therapy assistants who work closely with families, schools and other professionals.

We:

  • assess each child or young person and agree together what support or therapy is needed
  • give parents, carers, school staff and other professionals advice and activities to help develop communication skills
  • provide training for people who work with children and young people who have speech, language or communication needs

We support children and young people who may have:

  • unclear speech because sounds are missed or muddled
  • slow or unusual development of spoken language
  • difficulty chewing, eating or drinking
  • little or no spoken language
  • difficulty understanding what others say
  • stammering (stuttering)
  • voice difficulties
