The West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is holding its Annual Members' Meeting and health information marketplace on Wednesday, 8 October 2025. This offers everyone in our community the opportunity to learn more about local health and wellbeing services, as well as a special interest talk about respiratory health from local experts.
The event at the Eastern Education Group University and Professional Development Centre, 73 Western Way, Bury St Edmunds IP33 3SP, opens at 4.30pm with a variety of local services, charities and organisations taking part in the health information marketplace.
At 5.30pm the formal meeting begins, and begins with a reflection of the past 12 months at the Trust from chief executive, Dr Ewen Cameron. Dr Cameron will also launch the Trust’s new strategy, which will inform the priorities and direction of the Trust until 2028.
This will be followed by special interest talks about respiratory health: Lungs for Life - prevention, early detection and smoke-free futures. The focus will be on the Trust’s participation in the national lung cancer screening programme, and how early diagnosis can save lives. We will also hear about the support available to patients and staff to give up smoking for good and all the benefits quitting can bring.
Dr Ewen Cameron said:
This event allows our members and the public to get an insight into how their local NHS Trust is performing, and the opportunity to engage with our local health partners. We are also pleased to be able to launch our strategy for 2025-28, which is driven by a collective vision to create a healthier West Suffolk where compassionate care helps everyone to thrive.
“We are also proud to be sharing our participation in the national lung cancer screening programme, and all we do to encourage people to make good choices about their own health. I hope anyone interested in their local health service attends and I look forward to welcoming all those from our community.”
Free parking is available on site and also a two-minute walk away at the Abbeygate Sixth Form College.
