  • 2WW rapid access - melanoma/Squamous cell carcinoma and suspicious possible aggressive tumours such as merkel cell carcinoma.
  • Urgent referrals – BCC’s and other unusual lesions, deemed to be not aggressive to be in 2WW or other conditions causing significant distress/concern, sebaceous naevi
  • Routine- scar revisions, pinnaplasty in children, extra digit in children, webbed digits, dupytrens, carpal tunnel release etc.
  • All referrals are triaged and will take place by telephone where possible. Those that need to be seen in clinic will be offered a face-to-face appointment.
  • Priority is given to 2WW referrals and suspected cancer cases for clinic and surgical appointments.
  • The current wait for plastic first appointment is on average 8 weeks.
  • There is limited routine capacity but some routine surgery is being booked again with priority placed on cancer and urgent procedures.
