Paul has joined the Trust holding several non-executive positions in health organisations. Paul worked as a GP in Braintree, Essex, for almost 25 years, and during that time he became the CEO of many Primary Care Trusts in the East of England.
Paul is a former director of primary care to the East of England Strategic Health Authority, was an advisor to the King’s Fund and has spent time as the global chief medical officer for BUPA. In 2012, Paul was awarded a CBE from the Queen for services to the NHS.
Paul joined the Trust in September 2024, and when he is not working as a non-executive director, he works part time for RecYcle as a bike mechanic, repurposing second-hand bikes to be sent out to Africa.
