We are currently treating patients with confirmed COVID-19, or Coronavirus, at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. Every infection prevention precaution is being taken and staff caring for these patients are trained and equipped to do so safely.

We would encourage people to visit www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19 for the latest information on COVID-19, to find out what the symptoms are and how to help prevent the spread.

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

Stay at home if you have either:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly.
  • the loss of taste and/or smell

Do not go to an emergency department, hospital, GP surgery, or pharmacy.

You can book a test online or call 119 for help. Click here for up to date NHS advice and guidance.

Everyone is being reminded to follow the Hands, Face, Space advice and to:

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
