Telephone Appointment Centre – (T.A.C)
Role:
Role: The telephone appointment centre provides the Trust and GP’s with the service of choice for patients to arrange their Outpatient appointments, Rapid Access and Hospital Transport.
General Office: The personnel assigned to the appointments side of the TAC are responsible for booking outpatient appointments. These appointments must be booked in accordance with the Choose and Book (Choose and Book| ) system and also the 18 weeks (18 Weeks| ) referral guidelines. Approximately 350 appointments are made daily. These include; new referrals, follow-up appointments, ward attenders and Choose and Book.
Rapid Access: Personnel are responsible for meeting national targets associated with patients and suspected cancers. National targets have been set as follows:

All specialties must schedule the initial assessment within 14 days from time of referral.

Specialties which must meet 32-days from time of referral to time of initial treatment

Specialties which must meet 62-days from time of referral to time of initial treatment

Paediatrics, Testicular

Breast, Colorectal, Dental, Dermatology, ENT, Gynaecology, Lung, Upper GI, Urology

Team: There are currently 14 members of staff assigned to this department. All staff may be called onto work interchangeably within the 3 sections associated with this department.
Hours: 08:30-20:00/Monday-Thursday and 08:30-1930/Friday
