Who are the Friends?

The Friends of the West Suffolk Hospital are people like YOU - of all ages and from all walks of life - who are interested in supporting their local hospital.

Money raised by the Friends of the West Suffolk Hospital from donations, legacies, subscriptions and fundraising activities is spent on providing additional amenities and equipment for the benefit of patients and staff.

These items are selected from lists submitted to the Trustees by the hospital management, who are very appreciative of the support given to the hospital in this way.

Junior Members will be actively involved, along with hospital staff, to decide how the money they raise will be spent. This is likely to be a child-related project.

How can you join?

You may like to become a subscribing member only. The subscription fee to join the Friends is £5 per annum or £1 per annum for under 18 years of age.

How can you become involved?

Friends Shop and Trolley Service

Join our team of volunteers who help in the Friends Shop and Trolley Services to wards. All the profits from the Shop and Trolley are donated to the hospital to support patient care.

Fundraising Stall

Volunteers help on our fundraising stall held in the main reception of West Suffolk Hospital each Tuesday and Thursday. Bric-a-brac, books, unwanted gifts, are also required to help raise funds.

How can you help the Friends’ fundraising?

You can –

 Text a donation up to £10 – text ‘FWSzero zero £add amount’ to 70070. For example – text ‘FWS00 £5’ to 70070

 Donate via the various collection boxes located around the hospital including the Shop and Stalls

 Remember the Friends on special Birthdays or Anniversaries – perhaps in lieu of presents

 Remember the Friends of West Suffolk Hospital in your Will

 Donate items to the Charity Stall in main reception

 Offer your time – we would be delighted to hear from you.
