Family Carers

Do you assist or care for a friend, neighbour or relative who could not manage without your help?

For example, do you help with their daily living needs such as providing personal care, giving medication, preparing meals, shopping, accessing social contact and providing emotional support?

We value the information and expertise that you can share with hospital staff.

We aim to support you while the person you care for is in hospital, to enable you to access practical advice, support and services.

Please let the ward staff know if you are the patient’s main carer and they will provide you with a carers pack.

Family carer information packs are available on the wards, and include:

The Family Carers badge will identify you to staff as the main family carer, so that our staff know you are the right person to talk to about the patient’s care and treatment.

*please return the badge to the ward or information desk at main reception when the patient is discharged

Why is your feedback important to us?

We aim to support family carers while the person they care for is an inpatient; we would value your feedback on how well we do this.

Feedback forms are available on the wards and in the carer packs. or you can provide feedback via the following link”:

Please return the form in one of the designated boxes on the ward or at the information desk in the main entrance.
