Patients First Service Standards
At West Suffolk Hospital we are all committed to providing our local communities with the highest quality of care, and to putting their needs first.
Patients First started by listening to patients and staff to see what quality means to them. Both agree our patients should always feel safe, feel cared for and feel confident in their treatment.
Ten Patients First standards have been developed to help all of us to consistently deliver this experience to every one of our patients, every day. By living up to these standards we deliver more than just a high quality patient experience. The way we treat our patients as people also directly affects their safety and clinical outcomes. Improving quality will help us reduce costs too, by getting it right first time, and avoiding harm to patients.
By introducing Patients First standards we aim to support a culture in which everybody sees it as their job to continuously improve the services we provide to patients, to continue to offer the very highest quality of care for the people we serve. In this way our standards support the NHS Constitution, and are in line with the core competencies of the KSF, helping us to drive safety, communication, quality and improvement.
